Position Title: Application Developer (FileMaker)
Position Reports to: Chief Technology Officer
Essential Duties: The Application Developer (FileMaker) will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer to support the design, maintenance, and ongoing development of Con-Tech Manufacturing’s complex and evolving FileMaker Pro database system, which integrates with various external platforms. This role includes responsibilities across database
development, IT support, and system enhancements. This position's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
- Develop, maintain, document, and troubleshoot a complex multi-user FileMaker Pro system.
- Design and refine user interfaces (layouts), scripts, calculations, fields, tables, and relational structures.
- Integrate with external systems using APIs (e.g., REST, JSON).
- Provide technical support for hardware, printers, phones, mobile devices, networking, and software.
- Resolve staff issues via phone, in-person, or electronically.
- Install, configure, and update software and hardware as needed.
- Train new staff on database use and provide ongoing support to end users.
- Provide backup support for network and system infrastructure.
- Assist with implementation and support of information security initiatives.
- Support the planning and execution of future technology projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience developing server-hosted solutions in FileMaker Pro or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to follow through.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a team.
- Awareness of best practices in information security.
- FileMaker certification is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- This is a 100% on-site position. Remote work and offshore applicants will not be considered.
Experience:
- 1+ years of application development experience in FileMaker Pro (or similar), including scripting, relational design, and UI/report development. Portfolio or samples of past work will be requested.
- 1+ years of IT support experience in a professional environment.
- Windows desktop and user support experience.
- Network and system administration experience is a plus.
- SQL experience is a plus.
